Mid Ulster Sports Arena (MUSA) is a state of the art outdoor sports facility owned by Cookstown District Council designed to meet the requirements of a wide range of different sports. It is the centre of excellence for sports provision throughout the wider Mid Ulster Area.
Located just one mile from Cookstown on the Tullywigan Road, MUSA has the most advanced synthetic turf surface in Northern Ireland, and is both FIFA and UEFA approved. In addition there are 5 sand mattress grass pitches, an endurance area incorporating a multi use games area suitable for a wide range of sports, a strength and conditioning room and a sports pavilion with eight team changing rooms, a 1400m trim trail, administration offices, committee room and catering facilities.
In December 2013 a new indoor training area opened, as well as an additional block of six changing rooms including disability facilities, committee room and kitchen facilities. The indoor training area measures 95m x 25m and will accommodate training and coaching programmes.
As the only venue of its kind in the region, the Mid Ulster Sports Arena is a key contributor towards sports development and sporting excellence and sets the standard for sporting facilities within Northern Ireland.
